Sensual bachata workshop

We work on the connection, body technique and expression that define sensual bachata, using the methodology we learned from its creators.

Sensual bachata trained at the source

We are certified directly by Korke and Judith, the creators of sensual bachata: we completed Teacher Course Level 1 in 2020 and Level 2 in 2025. What we teach is not a second-hand reading of the style, but the methodology as its creators formulated it.

Sensual bachata rests on three things: genuine connection with your partner, control of your own body, and interpretation of the music. Without the first, figures become mechanical; without the second, movement loses quality; without the third, you dance over the song instead of with it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need previous experience in sensual bachata?

No. We adapt the workshop to the group's level, from beginners starting with posture and the basic step to advanced dancers working on complex combinations and personal style.

What is the difference between sensual and Dominican bachata?

Sensual focuses on partner connection, body movement and flowing figures; Dominican focuses on footwork, rhythm and the traditional roots of the dance. They complement each other, and many dancers end up working on both.

Do I need to bring a partner?

Not necessarily. Festival workshops rotate partners frequently, which is also the best way to improve leading and following.
