Body technique
Hip, torso and shoulder isolations, axis and weight control. The foundation that makes everything else look right.
You follow well, you know the steps and you enjoy dancing. But when you watch yourself on video, something is missing: your body isn't saying anything of your own. Styling is exactly that missing piece — and it can be trained.
Ladies styling is the follower's individual work: what you do when your partner isn't leading anything. The arms you don't know where to put, the basic step that looks flat, the free moment where you just wait for the next move.
It isn't about learning pretty choreographies to repeat. It's about training your body to respond to the music on its own, so you step onto the floor with your own resources instead of waiting to be led.
And here's what surprises almost every student: when your styling improves, your partner work improves too. A body that controls its axis, weight and timing is a far easier body to lead.
Hip, torso and shoulder isolations, axis and weight control. The foundation that makes everything else look right.
What to do with your arms when they're free, how to accompany the movement without interfering with the lead, and how to finish your movements.
The body movement of sensual bachata: waves, walks, changes of direction and transitions that give your dancing continuity.
Listening to the song and answering it: where to accent, when to stop, and how to fill the spaces instead of counting steps.
Gaze, posture and confidence. The difference between executing a step well and having people stop to watch how you do it.

No. Ladies styling classes are worked individually, so you can come on your own. In fact, that's one of the reasons many students start here.
You don't need to be a dancer or have formal dance training. A minimum bachata base does help, even a beginner level, to get the most out of the class.
In a partner class you work on connection, leading and figures. In a styling class you work on your own body: body technique, arms, musicality and attitude, without depending on anyone. They complement each other — styling also improves your partner dancing.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and see your body in, and dance shoes or clean trainers you can turn in. Heels are not required: the work can be done perfectly well without them.
Ladies styling traditionally focuses on the follower role, usually danced by women, but the body work is useful to anyone dancing that role or looking to improve their movement. If you're interested, message us and we'll talk it through.
